About

The Carbon Audax was the carbon version of Pearson's long distance bike. Its name, and Pearson's copy for it, go back to twelve Italian riders in 1897.

On June 12, 1897, twelve Italian cyclists attempted the challenge of cycling from Rome to Naples, a distance of 230km, during daylight hours. Nine succeeded and their attempt was nothing short of audacious, hence the audax, from the Latinate word audace, meaning audacious.
